Black Deaf Expo 2013

Feb 2, 2013 – Invisible Hands, International Black Deaf Expo 2013 was held at Gallaudet University at Multipurpose room from 10 to 5pm. The title of the Expo was “Reaching Out” . The title came up because we believe that we need to go out in the community and bring people to our places , even these people who are overlooked or not reached. There was  Businesses, Exhibitions, Arts of/for Black Deaf Community displaying their products and work.  Black Deaf History Exhibition was displayed in there.
Black Deaf Entertainment and workshops were the highlights of the event. At the opening remark, Tyese Wright , Miss Deaf America 2002 to 2004 , welcomed everyone and performed a poem, “Phoenomal Woman”. After that, Ronnie Bradley showed his talent with Black ASL by  performing the song, “I will Always Love You”. Funmi Thorne touched the heart of Gospel community with ” The Battle is Not Mine”. National Deaf Dance Theater and The Wild Zappers perfromed “Lean on Me” and It All Begins With You. Dynamic Duos member, Wade Green closed and stole the show with his dance to ” You Pulled Me Through”. The dance workshops had everyone on their feet and got their wet.
